L-Track, S-Track

When shopping for your massage chair, you may hear references to S-track or L-track systems. It's an important distinction, and you want to get the one that works best for you.

The "track" we're referring to is what the rollers at your back move along. Think of a massage chair track like a railroad track with the rollers moving along it like a train. "S-track" or "L-track" describes how long the track is and what parts of the body it reaches.

S-Track Massage Chairs

The S in S track stands for “sinusoidal,” which means “wave-like.” The first massage chairs had a completely straight track, but these roller tracks follow the curve of the spine, moving from the neck to the lower back.

L Track Massage Chairs

An L-track curves along the spine just like an S track, but extends further down the body. It's really nothing more than a longer S-track system. The longer section extends further down your body to reach your glutes and hamstrings.

So, Which One Should I Get?

Both systems will absolutely give you a great massage! The S-track will most likely be the cheaper option due to its simplicity and shorter track length. If you're primarily looking for a back and shoulder massage and don't need to focus so much on your legs, this is a great option.

However, the L-track can reach areas that the S-track simply cannot, and that extra coverage might be worth the slightly higher price. If you want to take care of your lower body as well as your back, have hip issues, or just want to luxuriate in a true full-body massage, an L-track chair might be just what you're looking for.
